Nostalgia. A toilet bowl of hope and regret. Well here’s a video that will plunge your head in and keep tugging on the chain. Some bloke has gone back through time and created a video walkthrough of our old school before it was razed to the ground.

If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe.

That’s where we made the bunsen burners into a flame thrower, that’s North Hall where we used to get them 15p Garlic breads, that’s that music room where Elspeth fell off a chair got concussion. Oh, how you’ll coo.

It was a golden age living under the reign of the Mighty Sir Lord Iain Hall The Great. And what of those with whom you shared the experience? Of those in 7 Royal (stays loyal…) half the girls have dropped a sprog, and one guy is away for murder. I guess that’s a pretty nice cross section.

Lord Iain Hall

One thing jumped out at me was the monitors still suspended in the Main Entrance. You see for me those monitors signify the the beginning of the slippery slope down into I.T. For while most people where outside at lunchtime; enjoying the sun, getting hit in the face with a football and trading dinner tickets, we managed to avoid this by joining the Teletext Team. We’d GOTO 10, programming news of the ’96 interform netball results and the imminent ban on Tamagotchis.

Popular? Yeah, we were cooler than socks and sandals.

  1. Ciaran, that Parrswood video is amazing! I just watched it for ages and at least three tears of happiness escaped. I can’t find it on You Tube. Do you have the link? I want to send it to some friends.

  2. It’s not on YouTube anymore for some reason, but you can see it here:

  3. This building was great towards the end of it’s life for many many reasons. Let’s say you wanted to get into the next room but there was no door… not a problem, just kick a hole in the wall and climb through. I remember the ceiling tile bulges in the music department when it had been raining, it was like a fun game of Russian roulette choosing your seat for the lesson.

Big shout out to Mr Holt, Mr Fuller, Mrs Norman and Mr Shields’ fringe of doom!

  4. wow never after 10 years would i have thought i’d get to see inside the old place again, hated every second i was there but met some of the best mates in those halls , awesome vid

    1996-2001

  5. The worst PWHS class that occupied these rooms showed in the video were members of 1 Dane (1973-74), 2 Dane (1974-75), 3 Dane (1975-76), 4 Dane (1976-77) and 5 Dane (1977-78). However, the Students who were assigned to Dane from 1973 to 1978 have gone on to become millionaires (Many), Mafia bosses, Foreign Legion Soldiers and became Senior Military Officers in other countries nations. Who would ever have thought?

  6. I remember members of 3 Dane in 1975 being put in the science building all on their own for the safety of the school/teachers, they remained their until they graduated in 1978. They were crazy folks and hard as nails too, but they were extremely funny . I remember having to take a late exam with members of their class it was hilarious even funny than “Fools and Horses ( TV show in the 80s).” The RE Teacher asked a member of Dane who killed Jesus? I will always remember the students reply “It wasn’t me I didn’t do it!” Or in Geography during a exam the question was posed “Where is San AndrĂ©s (island)’?” the Dane student wrote connected to my wristies (sic). Or the student in Dane who had a pet alligator growing in his bath tub. We were told that on a trip to Morecambe, they (Dane) buried the teacher in the sand up to his neck, the storey came via the buried teacher. Happy to see they have survived.

  7. They need to make a movie of these folks
